Our AML and Verification Policy

We hold gaming licence 8048/JAZ2021-195 issued in Curaçao, and that licence comes with strict anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) obligations. This page sets out, in plain language, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

Yabby Casino operates under licence 8048/JAZ2021-195 from the Curaçao licensing authority, and we treat the anti-money-laundering framework of that jurisdiction as the minimum standard for our platform. We do not accept funds of criminal origin, and we do not allow our platform to be used to conceal the source of any money.

Our AML programme is risk-based. Every account is assessed for risk at registration and re-assessed as your activity develops, and higher-risk patterns trigger enhanced review. We report suspicious activity to the relevant authorities as required by our licence, and we maintain internal controls, staff training and an appointed compliance function responsible for the whole programme.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification points

Verification happens at three points: at registration, where we validate your identity details against sanctions and PEP lists; before your first withdrawal; and at any point where cumulative transactions reach thresholds that require enhanced checks under our licence. You can complete verification earlier at any time, and we recommend doing so before your first withdrawal request to avoid delays.

  • Registration: name, date of birth, address and contact details are checked against our risk databases.
  • First withdrawal: full document verification is required before any payout is released.
  • Thresholds: deposits or withdrawals that exceed our internal limits, or form unusual patterns, trigger additional review.
  • Payment method: each card, e-wallet or crypto wallet you use must be verified as your own.

Documents we accept

We ask for three categories of documents. All must be valid, legible and in your own name.

  • Government photo ID: passport, driver licence or national ID card.
  • Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement dated within the last 3 months.
  • Payment method ownership: photo of the card (first six and last four digits, middle digits and CVV covered), e-wallet screenshot showing your account name, or a signed crypto wallet confirmation.

How Verification Works Step by Step

Verification runs through the document uploader in your account settings. Once you submit your files, our compliance team reviews them in the order received, and you will see the status change in your account as each check is completed. Most reviews finish within 24 to 48 hours; complex cases, such as documents issued outside our standard verification regions, can take up to 3 business days.

Every file you upload is transferred over an encrypted connection and stored on encrypted servers with access restricted to the compliance team that needs it. We never share your verification documents with third parties except where our licence or applicable law requires it.

  • Open the verification section in your account settings.
  • Upload your government photo ID (all four corners visible, no glare).
  • Upload a proof of address dated within the last 3 months.
  • Upload payment method ownership evidence for each method you use.
  • Wait for our compliance team to review, typically 24 to 48 hours.
  • If anything is unclear, we will contact you by email or live chat; our support team is available 24/7.

When We Ask for Source of Funds

Source of funds (SOF) evidence is not requested routinely. We ask for it when your deposits or betting levels are materially higher than the profile your account has shown so far, or when transaction monitoring flags a pattern that our licence requires us to examine. This is not an accusation; it is a legal obligation that applies to all licensed operators.

Acceptable SOF evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return or assessment notice, bank statements showing the relevant income, sale contracts for property or assets, or documented inheritance. For crypto deposits, we may ask for evidence linking the wallet to you, such as an exchange statement in your name. Once reviewed, SOF documents are held under the same security and retention rules as your ID.

How We Monitor Transactions

Deposits that arrive from third-party accounts, or that do not match a payment method registered in your name, will be returned to the source account. We do not charge fees on deposits or withdrawals, and we do not process transactions that fail our sanctions screening.

If Verification Fails or Documents Are Missing

If documents are missing, expired, illegible or do not match your account details, we place the affected function on hold: withdrawals are suspended and, in some cases, deposits as well, until you supply acceptable evidence. We always tell you which document failed and why, and you can resubmit corrected files at any time. Deliberately falsified documents, accounts opened under a false identity, or refusal to complete verification after repeated requests lead to permanent account closure and forfeiture of balances, and may be reported to the authorities under our licence obligations.

Restrictions are limited to what the situation requires. A single unclear utility bill does not close your account; it simply pauses payouts until you send a clearer copy. If you believe a decision was made in error, contact our compliance team via live chat or at [email protected] and we will review the case again.

How Long We Keep Your Documents

We retain verification records for at least five years after your account closes, because our Curaçao licence requires operators to keep KYC and transaction records available for inspection by the authorities for that period. After the retention period ends, documents are securely destroyed. You can request confirmation of what we hold about you, or ask for a correction of inaccurate details, by writing to [email protected].

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to verify my account before I can deposit?

No. Registration checks are automatic, and full document verification is required before your first withdrawal, not before deposits. We recommend completing it early to speed up your first payout.

How long does verification take at Yabby Casino?

Most reviews are completed within 24 to 48 hours. Complex cases, such as foreign-issued documents or source-of-funds requests, can take up to 3 business days.

Why was my withdrawal sent back to the same method I deposited with?

Our same-method rule is part of the AML obligations under our Curaçao licence. Withdrawals are returned to the deposit method wherever it supports payouts, and any excess above your deposits goes to another verified method in your name.

What happens if I refuse to provide source of funds documents?

Withdrawals remain on hold until the review is complete. Continued refusal can lead to account closure under our licence obligations, so we encourage you to contact support if a request is unclear.
